My name is Andy Levenkron. My wife, Wendy, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008. I remember the day we found out she had breast cancer and how surreal the whole situation felt. It was hard to comprehend that my beautiful wife had cancer. First it was the diagnosis that she had Stage 2 Cancer, then the surgery. She had to have a double mastectomy. Then finally, an intense 6 month treatment of chemotherapy. It was a lot for my entire family to go through, especially her.
It was very difficult watching her in so much pain while going through the chemo treatment. The usual ailments included stomach pains, exhaustion, lots of headaches, and of course, the loss of hair. But there was something else she was suffering from and that was compromised skin due to the side effect of chemo.
Wendy suffered from red spots, hot spots, cracking skin, itchy skin, and nail damage. Her hands and feet became dry and red and even sore. She tried product after product to see if they would subdue the pain and irritation but she never got any relief. The doctor even recommended using Vaseline or another product on her hands and feet and then wrapping them up in cellophane. Unfortunately nothing worked!
Since I work in the skin care and beauty industry, I felt compelled to do something to help my wife stop suffering from skin damage. Over the past 20 years I have been involved with beauty companies like Dr. Denese, Neostrata, IMAN Cosmetics, DermaBlend and Bristol Myer Squibb; just to name a few. This was when I decided to develop a product line that would be safe, effective and comforting for her and for those individuals whose skin has been compromised because of their medical treatment. I researched day in and day out on effective ingredients that would help excessive dry skin. Being involved in the skin care industry I was able to work with formulators and ingredient vendors to identify key ingredients to be used in formulating the 3RX Skin Therapy products. In addition to our product line, I felt that I could do more for cancer patients. I created the 3Rx Foundation which is a non-profit tax exempt 511(c)(3) organization dedicated to finding a cure for cancer and various skin conditions. All the money that is raised will be given to a variety of cancer and dermatological skin care organizations and research programs.
Recently, we began a fundraising program where 3Rx Skin Therapy partners with other non-profit organizations. With each purchase of 3Rx Skin Therapy products, a portion of each sale is donated to one of our partnered charities.
